I'd walk on that. I just got an extremely clean, no rust, stock '01 with 263k on it, I paid $7500. It's in much better shape than that one. Keep looking, there are tons of these out there.

How long has he been running with low coolant level? That's another red flag in my mind. It's the easiest fluid to see when it is getting low.


You can't "total loss" a vehicle and have a clean title. Even if you buy it back from the insurance company after the payout, the title has been salvaged. Best you can get is a R title at that point. Maybe he isn't using the term correctly.


It could still be a viable truck, but it is no where near a $14k truck. Based on what you have shared so far I wouldn't go over $5k, and at that price the truck better run and drive perfect. And that's only because it is a 7.3. If that was a gas truck it wouldn't be worth $2500.

If that truck's worth $14,000.00, mine should be worth 50,000.00!

It may be mechanically sound, but it would stop there. That truck is rough. But a lot of trucks that old are rough.
