EGR pipe thread pitch?

Hi all,

I'm trying to plug a hole in my EFI manifolds. It's the one where the EGR pipe comes in.

I've tried a 3/4" NPT and a 3/4" straight pipe thread and neither work. The NPT binds right away and the straight pipe gets about 1/4" before it binds. No one seems to be able to figure out what it is.

Metric maybe?

If anyone has figured out what it is, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks

Thanks for the link.
Are you saying that you used a 3/4" pipe plug? (NPT?) Like from a plumbing store?

I tried putting a 3/4" pipe cap onto the piece I have (which goes into the manifold) and it did not fit at all. I could maybe get about 1 - 2 threads in before it bound up.

Sorry about getting back so late.
Yes 3/4" pipe plug as shown in the picture below.

Now if you look it does not have the adaptor as shown in the below picture and what was posted to make this happen.

My EGR delete turned into sort of an ordeal. I couldn't get the bushing out, so ordered an appropriate drill and tap from McMaster, threaded it, then screwed in a grade 8 bolt with copper sealant. We'll see if it holds. Edit: Reading comprehension: I see you were talking about the intake EGR, not on the exhaust manifold. This is what I did on the exhaust:

I'm anxious to see how yours works out - post up pics please!

Thanks Dave. The first pic is what I'm wanting to do, and even took the current plug I have (which is a big hunk of the original EGR pipe with the threads on the end) and took it down, but no one could match it. I even went to a specialty store that's all about pipe and hose fittings and nada.

A standard pipe cap like the one you have pictured was close but didn't match it. At least, when I got a cap, it didn't thread on to the piece I had.
