Does anyone recommend any type of tracking device for these trucks? Which one?
For my business I use a company called Fleetmatics. They offer full service, real time tracking, monitoring ect. I have 40 or so trucks and a few cars. My insurance companies have all but required for the last 15 years, and have a sizable discount for it.
I just bought the TrackR, I haven't received them yet. https://thetrackr.com/bravo
When I do, I'll let you know if they work and are worth it. No additional fees, and free software download.
I'm a little hesitant in bringing this back up, I said I would report back. I received my TrackR devices only to realize it's only good as long as the device is within Bluetooth range. My low technology sense didn't see that, but in retrospect I should have. I still will place them in my vehicles as they will report back to you it's location IF it comes within range of someone's Bluetooth device that has the TrackR App. Not a total loss but not something I would invest in for that minimal coverage.

Thank you for the update. Ah ok so it depends on who has the same app and is around the vehicle.

It takes a certain kind of person to tell the world, or worse, the internet that he (or she) might have been wrong. I commend you for that. I still think these might be a good idea in a populated area.
