Looks like a clean truck for one from MI, its rusty up there right? Its rusty underneath it there too but looks to be surface, especially the underside of the bed. F150, 4wd, swap in 460, new paint rims and tires. Twin tanks. Have any receipts for that rebuilt motor and trans? I agree 2 to 3K.
You will need to locate the glove box trim bezel to fill all those holes. A/C cab, no A/C compressor on the motor. Pretty wet on the front axle, and under that "rebuilt" motor, I am sure they just added oil in the dvrs side valve cover and just did not wipe it up. Input seal on the steering box is shot.
Wrap a rag around a magnet and ck the bed fenderwell lip areas.
Collision damage at the driver side front?
Those missing pinstripes seem to tell a story. Plus the paint looks a little shinier on the hood and DS front fender.
Looks like a nice truck! I am looking at a 76 250 super cab right now..
The hood and drivers fender of this truck have definitely been repainted, its a slightly different colour/ gloss. If they would have matched the white pinstripes it would have been much less obvious... Id personally be more concerned with getting the stripes redone for continuity, 99% of people will never notice the difference in fresh paint on those panels.
I'll guess every bit of $2500-$3000, and more in the rustbelt. Looks like a really nice starting point, as long as it's not full of Bondo.
He's asking $4,000 right know. Being in Michigan rust belt area I think that is a fair price. Hard to find clean 4x4 that year because people drive them in the winter alot.
To check out the chances of rust really dig into the inner workings of the body. Get under it & look closely at the inner box sides, cab corners, floor boards, under the box near the front. Make sure it's what you want before you pull the trigger. Make sure they did a good job on the engine swap.

For the engine swap he said, he used the stock mounts.

Yes, I know exactly what you talking about. See a lot of it. Rusted trucks that are full of bondo. That the main trouble I am having. This will be the 5th or 6th truck I am going to look at so far. Thanks for all the help.
