Ok so the fuel pump was changed, but the truck still makes a hum or whining sound. Loudest in the cab, More noticeable when the truck is warm. Can be heard during idle and while driving. Any ideas?? I've read forums with other problems. Maybe the turbo?
Back to what Master Diesel Ford Tech M-CHAN said. This really sounds like one of those little paper/plastic coated disks in in the tank. It partially closes the fuel intake line.
Since you haven't dropped and inspected the tank, that would be my next move. Obviously you do what you want, but I'd be draining, dropping, and inspecting the tank... Rule that out before looking at the next part to change.
So I'm on my third time breaking down and needing a wrecker. Filters are clean and a new fuel pump was installed. Air is getting into the system, but the dealer can't figure out where and won't replace anything until they find it! When I open the water separator, a big rush of air comes out after the low pressure light comes on. Eventually the truck will go into limp mode and stall out. I'm running out of patience and options. Anyone ever heard of this??

If it is sucking a vacuum at the DCFM, either a cardboard disk (or other foreign object) is blocking the pickup in the bottom of the tank, or the pickup tube inside the tank is somehow pinched or restricted. Dropping the tank seems like the logical next step.
