Transfer case

Bolting my 97 transfer case to my 93 zf tonight I have found that the linkage bar that connects the shifter to the transfer case is to long. I used the shorter manual bar. The e40d bar was atleast 8 inches long. Only wayI am going to be able to get it onto 4low is to grind some off the bracket. Anyone else run into this issue while doing a 5 speed swap?

The zf5 linkage is a lot shorter. It's like 3-4" iirc. I shortened mine, flattened the end in a vice, and redrilled the hole

I used the linkage off the manual donor truck. But still about a inch to long. Guess I will cut it down and drill a new hole for it.
