I would hope they won't deny your claim for using it to plow snow. If the motor has to come out the cab will have to come off, there is a guy here locally that supposedly can take them off in 45 minutes.
What? They can deny a warranty for plowing snow with the truck????

The truck had a plow on it when I bought it although the dealer kept their plow and I kept mine. It also has the plow prep package from factory.

The a-hole at the dealer I went to denied a warranty repair for extra wiring I had on the truck even though they were hooked up to the upfitter switches. He also said something about using the truck for commercial purposes, I just went to another dealer and they took care of it.

UPDATE:

Update on this,
This morning I started the truck to a slight knock that got louder as the engine came up to temp. I pushed some snow around my yard for a half hour and the same knocking sound was present just like in the video in post#1.

THEN, I took the truck for a spirited drive down the road and the noise went away. I went about 15 miles, came home and filmed the video below. The knock is gone, the engine sounds the same as the day I bought it.

Rod knocks don't go away in my experience, maybe lifter or rocker noise? Hard to tell over the computer. When does it stop snowing up there? Has been in the 80's here off and on for weeks now, we didn't get much of a winter here. I already have tomatoes and cucumbers producing in the garden and am gearing up for the busy season (hvac).

Not so sure its a rod knock at this point because I was really getting on it today and instead of throwing a rod out or getting louder it actually no longer makes that knock. I cant see a rod bearing problem fixing itself, only getting worse. The sounds it makes now are just normal 6.7 sound or at least how it sounded when I first started driving it.

Not sure about the lifter or rocker possibility and now that the problem seems intermittent, its going to be that much more difficult to get diagnosed and fixed im guessing.

In the video below, a 6.7 owner has the same sound I had especially at the beginning of his video. He says in the comments section that it turned out to be an injector issue.

Maybe the mechanic at the dealer has dealt with this issue before, don't sweat it till you know what it is. My truck sounds almost like the one in the video you just posted, I thought it was normal but I don't have the resonation in the exhaust.

My local dealership wont do anything without first duplicating the problem Im guessing and it isnt doing it right now. Im going to stop by in the AM and show them and let them listen to my video and see what they say.

I listened to your first video again and it sounded like metal on metal to me, or a really bad detonation knock but it is hard to tell.

In person it kind of sounded like a loud PING, like detonation. And it went away with rpms. Also keep in mind the first video is filmed 2 feet from an exterior garage wall to amplify the sound. Either way it did NOT sound good. Hope the dealership can help. I still have lots of life left on my engine warranty but Im not at all confident in this truck now.

Try not to sweat it until you know what it is, but I can relate after owning a horrible 6.0 two trucks ago but I have a lot more confidence with the 6.7. At least it is under warranty. I had a 4.6 years ago that needed a new motor under warranty and the dealer took care of it really well and I wound up driving the truck for many more years with no more problems. It was a remanufactured motor though. Keep us posted and let us know how it goes.

i'd take it in and show them the video.

I think it was an injector sticking.

Yeah, I think this is what Im going to do when they open tomorrow morning, rather than call i'll just show up when they open and show them the video.

Since the video I made earlier today with no noise, ive been on 2 small trips and put on an additional 50 miles. Still no knocking noise and no engine light.

The injector volumes shown by Torque Pro or the like are "inferred", that is: that's what the PCM thought is was doing. If the injector is plugged or stuck, I don't think you will see it in that PID.

So, long way of saying it could be an injector.

Most likely a bad injector. There was a member here last year with a similar tapping noise and it was a injector as well.
