08 oil problem

08 oil problem
I just bought an 08 350, 6.4 diesel, it has about 125000 miles now. Driving home today, the oil light came on. I immediately shut the truck off and found oil everywhere. Luckily, I farm and had some Deere oil in the back. I put two-two and a half gallons back in the truck and found that the oil filter was leaking quite a bit. Needless to say, I started the truck again and let it idle, reving it to 1500 rpm. After thirty minutes or so the engine started tapping. I've had many power strokes but this is my first 08. I know tapping isn't good, just seeing if anyone has had the same issue.
