Tri-Coat white paint issues ???
After reading several posts recently about paint issues (thin, streaky, chips easily) I am wondering, is the Tri-Coat white paint actually thicker and more durable than the standard paint? Is the Tri-coat worth the $595 upgrade?

I don't know that it could be thicker than the other colors. After paint gets so thick, it will become more chip prone. The tri coat white is just a base coat. They apply three coats of clear urethane over the white which protects the base coat. A friend who has been a Body Tech at Ford for nearly thirty years, told me that Ford uses a very good quality clear coat on their vehicles.
Personally, the paint on my truck seems as good as any that I've had, but no better. I have Ruby Red.
