ECT/EOT

I have started having higher readings lately while towing my 1400 pound trailer. At 79 degree air temperature at 65mph cruising with X4 8k Tow tune I am seeing 214-216 ECT and 220-224 EOT and my fan clutch is not engaging. If I tow faster the temperatures get too hot for my liking. I am going to buy the BPD fan clutch kit and replace water pump and thermostat. What I am getting at is when it's 100 plus degrees this summer what towing temps should I be seeing? This little boat is not even that heavy!

I don't have the delta numbers memorized anymore but the first thing I would do is verify your oil cooler is functioning properly.... New or not they can go quick. One of mine was toast in less then a week. BPD probably has a video or tech sheet on it.

Verify at Idle, your fan is actually turning.
Have you unplugged your EGR wire connector? The PCM control of the fan is disrupted if the PCM doesn't see the EGR valve signals, yes, even if EGR cooler is deleted, the computer needs to get the readings.

My coolant to oil delta never gets over 8 degrees, 15 is where you get issues with a plugged oil cooler. The oil cooler is new.
The fan turns at idle just fine but I never hear it engage at 211 degrees or whatever it is. The tunes are by Gearhead so I'm sure the tow tune has the fan clutch parameters included.
I have been communicating with Toreador (Razzi) but just wanted to get a group opinion.

Even when I'm just driving around town with no trailer with SRL+ tune loaded it gets over 204-208 ECT. I am thinking maybe the thermostat is hung partially open and not opening enough or the water pump is not pumping efficiently.

What temp should it be just driving around town ?

If the thermostat opens at 190* then 190 is as cold as it can run, 204-208 seems reasonable. ?

Not that it matters since it is a completely different cooling system but my 7.3 runs 210 cruising down the hwy.

I took Toreador's advice and ordered a 1997 7.3 fan clutch from O'Reilly's soI will have a lifetime warranty and also got the thermostat and water pump from them. I got the 7.3 to 6.0 fan clutch adapter on the way from Bulletproofdiesel.com. All I need now are recommendations for an all aluminum radiator to replace the stock one. Let me know what you guys have had good experiences with.
