Hi folks, an inquiry for my son. He's got a '97 F-150 with 4.6 l and automatic trans with the column shifter. He called this evening to see if I had any ideas, you guys are my recommendation.
When he starts the truck, he is not able to take the shifter out of Park. If instead, he places the key to auxilliary, he can then start the truck in neutral, and is then able to select any gear he wants.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, what is the solution?
Thanks for any and all help!
Bob
Jonmech, you hit the problem exactly! Thank you. Obviously, his next question is where is this switch LOL. I would assume it's not like the old days where the switch was on the master cylinder, but I'm 70 miles away, and haven't looked for it.
Thanks again, jon!
Bob
