I have the same thing going on in the Washington State Chapter.
With all the things to do in the states we live in people sometimes
run out of time to just sit at the computer and type.
Idaho, Utah and Washington maybe we should have a Western region meet every few years.
What do you guys and gals think. (Yes I am trying to be PC)
Where is those matches? Awefully dark under this here rock...
I'll try to stop by here more often when I'm not under my rock or over in the 48 to 56 forum.
Congrats Nick. Would like to see someone put a boot in this chapters a$$. I haven't checked in in a few years. Last time I tried to organize a meet and greet it was just myself, my wife and the CL that showed up to Pat's BBQ. I mean seriously who doesn't want some Pats?

That would be fun. It would also give me some time to get this truck running better so it can make the trip!
Welcome to the utah chapter BlackD! Cool rig. I'm big on the slick sixties trucks. What are you wanting to know? Some parts are still sold at the major parts stores but no place I know of to get parts locally. Lots of online places though
I’m still trying to figure out what I need to replace and making a game plan going forward. I’m trying to see what resources there are locally. We are going to start stripping it down to the frame soon. I need a drivers door, hood, fenders and I need to find a hood machine shop to rebuild the engine for starters, won’t know for sure until we get into it more.

I keep my eye out on ksl a lot and find quite a few things. I Saw a few doors posted last week. I also look at the classifieds on here frequently. I don't have those parts but have some spares for my 62. I'll keep an eye out for you since I look at parts frequently.
My son has the front end off the truck, the cab and bed are next. Then we will start on the frame. Any suggestions for someone to sand blast the frame and to re gear the axles.
He needs leaf springs for the truck has anyone used AAA Spring Specialist in South Salt Lake?
This should keep us busy for awhile. It will also
give him time to figure out how to put a 351w in it, power steering, AC, disk brakes and what transmission to use. It currently has a 289 in it.
The truck is his senior project and at his school they start them as a sophomore so he has another two years before he needs to finish it.

Cool project. That is awesome his school does that.
Nice looking truck, and 4x4 to boot! I used Keen coatings years ago to sandblast the 12' stakebed on my 52 f6. I think i had them paint or powdercoat ? it also cant remember if was some sort of industrial paint or what? they did a nice job and would use them again. not sure if they would do or if id want them to do sheet metal though? but for a frame id use them.
