Check charging system warning message
Many years ago my mother had the alternator changed out in her 08 Taurus X, 3.5L V6 and since then, because it wasn't a Ford part or mechanic, I guess, the Information Panel over the steering column has been saying "Check Charging System" when you start up till you shut it down. The alternator is obviously charging the battery and working properly. Is there a work-around for this or do I need to go get an original Ford part to make this disappear? I've tried cancelling it out by resetting the message center but the message always comes back.
