Ford is not Burger King so you can`t have it your way.
The packages, configuration, and options are set up in a way that Ford can make the most profit........nothing more, nothing less.
Example of building a F150 the way you`d like it.....How about a Limited with the 302 Package, regular cab, 8 foot bed, max tow package, 2WD, center console delete, 18 inch Lariat wheels, with the NA V6 engine.
Then I don't really see the point in special ordering a truck and not getting all the dealer and manufacturers incentives, discounts, etc.
I for one would not purchase anything above the Lariat. And even at that I don't think I want the 502A package..... Just too much fluff for my liking. I just hope when the time comes I can find a Screw w/ 6.5' bed.
only things i would add to my 302a xlt would be heated wheel(damn MI winter), maybe cooled seats and i would love to have the 360 camera. That is of course with the max payload package...
I believe I've said it before, but the next one is my "retirement" truck. I don't haul much more than the occasional pallet of sod or half cord of firewood. I don't tow a large or heavy trailer. My retirement truck will be the 5.0 w/6 speed trans, Screw with 6.5' bed. I think I'd be pretty content with a 302A XLT w/Nav and the Kicker sub and 20" wheels. I found I can get the same overall look/stance that I have now but without E rated tires if I go to 20's. No need for E rated tires on a half ton truck.
CR172
Come to San Antonio if you want a SuperCrew with a 6.5' bed. Almost every dealer has a few and I see one or two on the road almost every day, not including mine.

Good to know. Don't see very many around the DFW area. Believe it or not I've been in Texas since 1967 and I have yet to make it to San Antonio. Been real close.... 5 hr road trip.
Used to be 4 hours before IH 35 became such a nightmare. In reality it's 6 now due to all the slow downs. When I go up that way these days, I just take 281 up to IH 20. A lot less stressful, even if it doesn't save much time.
We are actually an hour north of Dallas. Got a buddy that has a lake house on Canyon Lake and we take 281 whenever we go down on the Harley's. We are in Fischer every Nov. for the Fischer Fest music festival and usually take 35 to the turnpike around Austin. 35 has been under constant construction since I started my jaunts to Austin back in the early - mid 70's.....
Now back to our regular scheduled programming......
I'm an old school Harley guy. I do like some chrome, just not alot and only in certain places. Door handles, no; bumpers, ok; grille, sure (just not the one they put on the XLT chrome package)

Nice Road King. I think Harley makes the best looking bike of anyone!
Took delivery of new f150 last 05/17/2017. The truck is perfect and exactly what I was expecting!!
Saleslady was on top of it during the actual transaction. She did a fine job then...and I give credit when credit is due. She just needs to learn how to stay engaged during special ordered vehicles. Maybe...I was her first? Unknown?
So...I drove the new f150 the rest of the day, but since parking her that night...have not driven since. I am waiting to add my first round of accessories!! I'll get that done this long 3 day holiday weekend!!
Of course...pics to follow!!
Line-X quote to come as well. I decided to go Line-X over the FORD version.
