But you can sit at home in your skivvies and try out various combinations and see their effect on the bottom line price without the salesman trying to talk you into taking one off the lot that's "almost" what you want.
There ya go! Let's all go commando and order new trucks!
I find the easiest way to do it is to go to the web site and TRY to configure the truck the way you want it.
If you try to sit in the salesman's cubicle and configure the truck you can wind up being told that you can or can't have what you want. Also they'll try to steer you to something that's close and is on the lot. With a printout there's no confusion.
That is exactly what the saleslady did with me. Pull out the little paper that lists all the "wants" and "needs" for the new truck.
I smile...and think how cute this little lady is, going with "Step-by-Step" she has been trained. So cute!!
So...as to not waste time...I just hand her the printout of my configured f150. She takes it to SOMEONE...and then comes back. YUP...we've got to order it!! No chance finding the same EXACT truck somewhere else.
I'm kind of sad I didn't order one because I'm missing a few options I can't add on, but on the other hand the anticipation would have probably killed me lol. Or my wife would have killed be for checking every 5 min to see where the tracking as at.
It's gonna be like the few days before Xmas as a kid for you when it gets closer!
To watch the actual progress of your truck is very cool.
Can`t wait to see the pics.

Thanks appreciate the excitement! YES...it is really cool that FORD offers this service.
Unfortunately, I had to learn about it from FTE, not my selling dealer!!
I am pretty excited about the new f150, but I am also sad to be trading my 2012 F250 SuperDuty. That was my very FIRST ordered vehicle...and it has been special. See link for pics... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post11937738
All I know...is that someone is going to get a GREAT truck!! As I transition to the f150 series.
According to the site...the truck has been delivered!! See attached...
Unfortunately, NO word from dealer and my saleslady. She's turned out to be a total dud. I've asked her for updates...and she has never followed through.
So, it's been me and the FORD Custom Order Tracking Site...with the updates.
Anyway, hope to take delivery next week (if the truck has actually been delivered).
