Mechanical fuel pump
Hey all, the diaphragm in our mechanical fuel pump for the 55 with the 239 yblock is about shot, does any one know if one that works on a 272/292 would work as a replacement?

The pump mounts to '55 and up timing covers in the same way. So the first thing to do is to verify that it still has a '55 or newer timing cover. The easy way is to look at the fuel pump bolts. 5/16" = 1954. 3/8" = '55 or newer. It is 62 years old so check, do not assume.
If it is '55 or newer, it should bolt up and pump gas. You might have to rework fuel and vacuum lines.

As always Charlie, that's awesome information! We are the 3/8s checked last night after seeing your message, and the lines needed to be reworked anyway as they were rotted.
