I am having issues with my brake pedal feeling sloppy, or weak seems like it goes all the way to the floor to get any response from the brakes. Alittle info, I just changed my front disc brake pads, and also all the springs and shoes on both rears.. I DID NOT remove the calipers or any brake lines. I would not think one needed to bleed the brakes if you changed just the springs, shoes, and pads, or am I wrong? Which I am alot... a little help from the great knowledgeable people here would be awesome!
I'd check the adjustment on the rear brakes, you want them to have a little drag on them
This will do it too, and it feels a lot like air in the system or mushy low pedal. Crank up the adjusters as tight as they will go and depress the pedal a few times to center the shoes and parts, and then back them off. Takes all the "slop" or clearance out in the system. If you do need to bleed the system, it helps to bleed while the adjusters/shoes all the way up tight as far as they will go.
Definitely check your adjusters. I've spent months arguing with my brakes, new parts, new parts again, back to old new parts. What I finally found was my rear adjusters were way out, so my pedal went to floor before they engaged. Tightened the adjusters and now I have brakes.
