cab swap

I have a chance to get a cab from a 1976 Ranger to replace my rusted 1978 F100 cab

any reason this won't just swap over easily?

Wiring harness is different between those years. Be sure to carry the wiring from the 78' when you do the swap and you should have no problems.

So basically just rip all the '76 wiring out and transfer the '78 stuff to it? I am a big time noob on this one LOL

Yeah, take the dash out of both cabs and the wire is easy to access. Use the ignition switch, wiring and everything else from the 78'.
