Cab Swap

I'm getting ready to swap a '73 cab 2wd on to a '79 4wd. I was wondering if their was an easy way to disconnect the wiring so I can just hook it back up after the swap. I plan on rewiring the whole thing when I find a suitable bed, but I want to go ahead and swap the cabs now.

mine just unplugged on the outside of the firewall. i dont know if your will plug and play being that many years difference, but its probably the same or very similar.

I think the wiring has a single bolt holding the main harness to the outside of the cab at the firewall. It has been a while since I put mine back together.

the 73 wiring will not work with your 79 as it has electronic ignition, the 73 does not. pull the dash cover out, and remove the wiring harness as a whole, then re-install. its really not that hard to do.
