Dana 50 and 60 hubs

Will Dana 60 and Dana 50 front axle manual locking hubs interchange? I'm going to switch my 97 F 250 from auto locking to manual locking and if I have read correctly they will interchange.

Another question I have is do I need to spindle nut conversion kit? I had my local parts store owner (very shard dude) tell me he sells the hubs to a mechanic shop who never buys the kit and he sells the kits to people who buy the hubs, but he didn't know what the difference was in the spindle nuts and lock ring.

So what is the verdict on the hubs and nuts?
