Funny thing is that I did the same thing. Then I took a picture, and my picture looks somewhat similar to his. You can see the texture in the wheel refletions. My Red 2009 F150, and Red 2004 Thunderbird all have some texture (perhaps orange peel) as well. In the picture it is more obvious; in person, I think all of my cars look great. I am loving my F450 King Ranch for sure!
F150 Paint: (sorry, my trucks are dirty) F150 Paint (F450 in fender reflection)c how much clear the paint relects .. clearly far superior paint job .. my picture everything is blurry from the limpy paint .. I want youre paint ..

You can see it even more in this shot - look at my garage lights.

Maybe my standards aren't super high, but I think my truck is beautiful!
this paint is clearly superior than mine pic to pic . look how it refects youre other vehicles , chit mine gives you a headacke looking at it .. this roughness,i see no orangepeel on youre truck . in return reflects a slightly dull finish looking at it .. from beung so rough ,, nice truck I agree
Your paint is rougher than mine. I was just showing that the paint on my cars isn't as smooth as I thought. I think SOME orange peel is OK, but there is certainly a limit. The accent color on my f150 looks like your paint. I figured it was intentional, but maybe not.
I hope you can get your truck looking like you want it to.

Guys, if your paint is *****ty take it to the dealer and get their response. If that's not acceptable to you then escalate it. If that's not acceptable to you talk to a lemon law lawyer and see what they say.
If the paint quality sucks don't accept it. I understand you posting it here so others know and can post their experience but you need to take care of the issue yourself. And then post that and tell us how they addressed it with you.
I've owned 5 Super Duty trucks now, and every single one of them have the "wide texture" / orange peel look. Lots of American cars are the same way. Look at a Japanese car or European car and the paint appears to be tighter. Some colors show it more than others. I found my 2015 Lariat painted in Tri-Coat White Metallic Platinum was pretty good at hiding the peel...but it was still there. These trucks still look good, but the paint quality is not tremendous...but I've seen the same type of paint on the GM trucks, even Cadillac...
Mine has the same thing but only on the rockers. It looks perfect on the rest of the body. I didn't even notice until I put the running boards on. It's a perfect transition along the body line. I thought it was intentional.

The lower paint is intentionally rougher and thicker to help prevent chips on this generation...

I was poking around the dealer lot yesterday and saw this very thing. With the straight line cut off it must have been intentional. I also noticed a fair amount of orange peel on the sides of the truck. Here are some cell phone pictures. This truck is shadow black and the truck in the reflection is oxford white.
Just because it passed inspection doesn't mean it was actually inspected. If every Ford came out that way do you think they wouldn't be hearing some serious negative feedback and a loss of sales? I'd never accept paint like that not on my bikes or cars/trucks.
No paint correction here, but I think it looks better than the OP, and way better than the black truck above. I think mine would really look good with some wet sanding and buffing.
