Is the fuel pressure holding at speed?
With no codes, good fuel pressure and running fairly smooth the exhaust might be clogged.
Our 2003 Exped 5.4L started feeling sluggish going up long, steep hills.
It used to cruise up the hill near us at 70mph no problem.
Then it seemed to not be able to hold 65mph up the hill, then 60mph.
It would start fine, rev great not in gear, but try to accelerate or climb a hill and it would bog down.
Accelerate slowly and it would go right up to 65mph.
I found on line a vacuum test that can be run to check for a clogged exhaust.
I've seen an exhaust pressure tester lately than plugs into an oxygen sensor port for $22 that checks it directly.
At least one of my cats was clogged, probably from the misfires I was trying to figure out when I was first learning about these engines.
Changed the cats and it has run great for the last 8 years.
