Hello guys. I've an 88 Bronco with the old 5.0L engine that's running close to the 150K miles. I've started slowly to upgrade her by adding a K&N Air charger, B&M trottle body and spacer, Superchip's chip, short headers, dual custom exhaust, power pulleys, new trany, and 96's XLT wheels, rear view mirrors and fender. But as always there's still work to do.
So I write to you guys to see if any can lend me a hand. I found a 302 engine from Ford racing that's rated at 340Hp and will fit all mods I've done to my existing engine. Also, founded the Edlebrock Performer series Intake Manifolds EFI. I was thinking on adding an oil cooler and transmission cooler. I've been also looking at the Edlebrock IAS shocks to replace the dual front and make it dual back. And I'm looking for a way to make my hood like the lightning hood for a ram air kit I've seen at Cervinis. In addition, was thinking on a torque converter (opinions?).
As for looks, was thinking on getting 17" and have a new paint job scheme.
So, if anyone has any suggestions as to how to, where to and how much, please advise. Thanks for any feedback

the ford crate engine is good. but if your gona spend the money for a crate motor and after market intake, go ahead and splurge for the 351w since your look at intake anyway, you would have to have your exhaust pipes altered slightly cause the 351W is slight ly wider, other than intake ,everything else will bolt up. DW
I have them ordered, but don't have them yet. From the description they sound perfect for my use. Soft for bumps, and stiff for cornering. My stock shocks are real stiff. I feel every bump in the rode, and its a killer off road over wash boards. I didn't want to get some shocks where I had to get out and change the settings. The guy at comcast seemed to be real happy. I was amazed when I found his site. He did almost everything I plan to do--shocks, velvet ride shackles and bushings.
I thought he didn't like the velvet's too much in the beginning....Always wanted to get the IAS Shocks since they came out on 98. Guess that's coming on X-tmas time, with the intake manifold and the oil & tranny coolers.
i agree with DW about uping to a 351. Thats what im doing this fall . almost everything is bolt in with this motor. I am going with the 351ho from this company http://www.ford-motors-engines.com/index.html
they offer a 7yr/70,000 mile warranty i dont even think ford can beat that.
good luck

Can anyone point me into the right direction. I've been trying to get a hood with the ram air for my bronco. I don't want to change all my side panels and front bumper for that type of hood, cause then it'd make my 88 Bronco look "newer"...Please advice
Himura, want a nice ram air setup? perhaps using the 2003 Mach1 ram air setup for EFI engines will work for you? it is reminiscet of the classic cobra jet shaker scoops.
this should add about 10-15hp and give you the woo factor
