tpms sensors
I am looking for an extra set of steel wheels and most do not have sensors. What is required to make the system work? Are they all the same frequency? How about the sets on ebay for about $60 a set?

TPMS sensors come in two frequencies, 315MHz and 433MHz and as a rule the two are not interchangeable. You didn't specify the vehicle but I'm pretty sure you'll be using the 315MHZ ones. As for the eBay sensors, if they're Ford OEM get them, if they are a generic shipped from China brand then do not, most of those fail.
Your second issue will be programming the sensors into the vehicle every time you swap tires. Again without knowing the vehicle I can't know the relearn procedure in order to give correct advice.
