So last time I bought tires for my '11 F350, I bought rims and tires, just stockers from the guy down the road. Long story short I sold mine with the sesnors in them thinking my tuner would turn off the alarm, it dont, only adjusts the pressure at which they come on.
Well I need new rubber again and was going to have sesnors put in, and maybe go aftermaket rim. What do I buy???? I've looked at sensors online and its about as clear as mud what I need or what I should get brand wise.. They are priced from 60 bucks for all 4 ( I know way to cheap) to 60 a piece for motorcraft but then some of the motorcraft ones dont look the same??
From personal experience with our used car department swapping tires and wheels and trucks that were traded in with non-stock wheels, not all sensors will work - even from "close" model years sometimes. There were 3 changes with the sensors between 2009 and 2016 Super Duty trucks. It is BEST to go with the Ford sensors for trouble free set up and operation but I would get a recommendation on an aftermarket sensor before committing is you are going that route. If someone can vouch for one for your model year then you should be okay.
