To each his own I always say. In previous trucks with FX4 package, I've never had any issues with the Rancho shocks, glad to have the skid plates, and the HDC has come in handy. As for the stickers/decals, don't bother me at all.
When ordering is requesting just the skid plates something they will ask if I want or will I have to go in knowing about this? Which obviously I do now.

It's an option on the Ford build and price just like any other option.
No worries. I'm just happy it's a stand alone option again. It was before the 11-16's but they got rid of it for that gen. Another option that used to be stand alone was the sway bar. You could order it without the camper package. No more on that one though...
That's some scary stuff. Thanks to reading this forum prior to me ordering, directed me to stay away from the crappy FX4 pkg. I will prob do Bilstiens down the road, my wallet is in recovery mode right now.
Good to know that it is finally offered in the DRW, although I don't have a need for it.
With the next truck I sure wish they would put an electronic locker in the DRW.
Righto on the HDC. I had the FX4 on my last truck just to get the skids as they weren't a stand alone on the 11-16's. Never used HDC in 5 years of ownership and had 3 of 4 of my Rancho branded shocks blow at around 900 miles after my first tow. Went to Bilstein 5100's after that and all was well. On the box sticker thing, I'm not a fan of either. I left the FX4 sticker on my 12 but pulled the 4X4 sticker from my 17 when I got it home. They come off very easily when new. I agree, they do look better than the previous gen but I wanted to be completely sticker free on this truck. Now that they are off, I much prefer the look...
I don't recall if skid plates only were available when I ordered my 11 DRW.
But then again I thought I was getting something worthwhile.
