No worries. If you would have posted that before my truck got here, I would be googling it...lol
Because as stated before,if not for that, why would you get it on a DRW? For white shocks and a sticker?

Exactly. Some do like the FX4 pkg just for the image and branding though and choice is a good thing. I just prefer functionality. Skids? Yep. HDC if you go off road? Sure. White and red shocks with a high reported failure rate? Not so much. But, the fix is certainly easy if they let you down.

I have searched FTE, as I said, lots of repetition by a few, and it is most certainly a "theme" proposed by a few....que the standard pic of some Rancho shocks on a table. (can you believe how quickly I caught a fish?)

Very next post, lol

I guess your searching is weak. It's not always in the title of a thread. It's not always even the topic of the thread. It has indeed been coming up repeatedly for years. Since you've only been a member here for one month, I guess it's to be expected that your knowledge would be limited on this and that's OK. Give it time. You'll get up to speed. Or not? It's fine either way. No one is here to convince you of anything. Here's the picture you requested. 900 miles of goodness right there... Pleasant dreams...

The Rancho's on my other vehicles work fine and as intended. They do not offer a smooth ride. For that I have a 2wd expedition.
I get how a manufacture specs an item from a manufacture for OEM parts...they do it with tires too......but those stickers........

My theory, which very well could be wrong, has always been that they aren't valved for heavy towing. The guys who most often report issues are ones with big trailers that work the rear suspension hard. When mine blew early, I had just got back from bringing home a new 5ver with a 3k pin. I had towed it home up I95 through Jersey and NYC. That stretch is brutal with the bouncing. I bet they would have held up longer if I just used the truck as a grocery getter. That said, reading about failures is anecdotal for sure. By and large people don't notice, care, or complain and those with the issue are a very small number relatively. The number is just larger than with other shocks so it's worthy of noting. Certainly not a sky is falling issue though. Just something to note when considering ordering a package is all....

I sure as heck would not let the shock be a reason for ordering such a package. Knowing how manufactures mess with branded products. I do know that from the info on this forum, I will be paying attention to possible early failure. There is a lot of good info here. I should say that the Rancho's on my other trucks were not OEM (the jeep is a 47). The Jeep has destroyed shocks due to where it has been. Heck, I even have crushed one.

My last 2 trucks had the FX4 package and I've pounded them off road while hunting and exploring.
Never had a problem with the shocks and I sure have used the skid plates.
When I order my 2018 it will have the FX4 package.

Ouch, I the newbie done been schooled on searching, or not? You did save me the trouble of searching for the pic YOU have posted hundreds of times. Could account for the hundreds of posted Rancho failures though.

I agree again. I wouldn't (and didn't) let the shocks stop me from ordering the package on my 2012. I just wouldn't use having the Rancho branded shocks as a reason TO order the package. If they fail, which they did for me, you just swap them out for something better. I was actually pleased mine failed so I could go to a shock not only better then them but also better than any other OE shock offering. Any excuse to upgrade is fine with me...

I never said hundreds of people posted pics of failures. I said a lot of people have posted about failures. If it's important for you to find said posts, look harder. If not, then don't. Anyways, I thought reposting that pics was going to help you nap? Whatcha doin' still up?

As had been said many times for many different issues, the forums are not representative of failure rates on a particular part, many thousands, I'm sure are very pleased with the FX4 package and the shocks that come with it.

Actually, what I said was that for less than $200 at MSRP I got both the shocks and hill descent because I wanted the skids anyway. On a $70k truck, it wasn't a deal killer but the sticker had to go. If I hate he shocks, I'll go Bilstein and be happy with hill descent.

I think I also said the same. Did you miss that too? It's relatively small number for sure. Just more than the standard black OEM shocks.

Yep, pulled my stickers off the day after I bought it! Glad I did, too. They were gaudy look-at-me.
