I've seen a couple of oil you tube videos talking about this, as well as, a couple videos. In all of them the language they use seems misleading. They say "Ford diesel owners not use CK-4 motor oil....". This statement makes it seem like this includes 6.9, 7.3, 6.0, 6.4, and 6.7. However, they only describe testing on the 6.7 only and not any of the other mentioned models. Since the first statement makes it seem like the issue includes all models , they only really mention one model of engine. It's poorly written but instills a possible issue. In my mind the other engines are totally different such as parts materials, etc. it would be nice to have some clarification instead of using phrase - "All Ford diesel owners..."
Am I missing a article saying the 7.3 is included?
Ford engineers are recommending that Ford diesel owners not use new CK-4 motor oils after company testing of some of those formulations revealed accelerated engine wear on some of the Ford 6.7-liter engine components in the engines they tested

Oh I've read them, but still was curious at Fords no go on the CK-4 on 6.7 but not once did they mentioned older diesels. I'm not worry about the new standard in oil, I've used all kinds of oil on the fleet and if you maintain them I regularly we probably won't suffer any kind of engine failure. Besides the oil being used in the fleet for the past 2.5 years has been working great. theres an abundant supply of CJ-4 that most won't touch because of the "No name brand"
