My tire changing tools have always been behind the back seat since I bought the truck but due to some recent audio upgrades they can't go back there any more so I want to put them in the factory location under the hood. At least one of my mounts is broken and something seems to be missing, the part that holds the lug wrench? Anyone have a pic of what I am missing and where can I get the parts I need?
The part that holds the lug wrench is broken on the left side but what holds the other end? There is an empty bolt hole just to the right of the bolt that holds the degas bottle (not in the picture), I am guessing something goes there?
Thanks, I found that part at Auto Nation. Problem is all the sites I visit show the same Ford diagram which only shows the the driver side retainer, lug wrench clamp, lug wrench, jack, jack mounting plate, jack retainer and the extensions. None show the pass side retainer which has two small clips for the extension tools and one large clip for the wrench. I need that one too as the large clip is broken. Maybe I will remove mine and look for a part number on the bottom.
Ah ha, I went out and looked again and you are right, both ends are the same. The retainer that holds the wrench is a separate part which I thought was attached to the pass side retainer. The part that I am missing like Sous said is N811842-5100 in your diagram which for some reason does not appear in the others. Where is your diagram from, I can't get the part number to come up at Ford.
I got it from the Bear Lake AutoNation Ford parts website. I tried to break it on the internet and could not. I believe you're going to need to probably call one of the Ford dealerships and get them to break it down for you. There's a prefix 1 zxy whatever that goes in front of it and I couldn't find it. I found it by typing in lug wrench in the search.
Some of my mounts are cracked as well. I just have them zip tied down.
Also, allow me to rant on how retarded the design is for the storage of these tools. I've had to access them with the engine at running temp, they were burning my hands thru a rag. Like as if my day wasn't bad enough by needing to actually use the tools, NO! Now I gotta go get skin grafting as well. . . Haha slight exaggeration
