to start out i am replacing my passenger side front unit bearing on my 2001 f250 4x4. the old one is well gone it moves in ways it should not move.
so i have taken the brakes off the locking hub out and got the nuts that hold the unit bearing on loose but the snap ring that holds the axle shaft in has been kicking my butt i bent 2 different sets of snap ring pliers and can not seem to get the snap ring off and that is the last part till i can get the old unit bearing off.
does any one know of a way to take it off with or without snap ring pliers? my wife is gone for the day and i am stuck here with a torn apart truck and would rather not put it all back together to just take it all apart again.
thanks guy my dad came through he was able to swing by with a better set of snap ring pliers that were able to do the job.
it was a easy job to do i have done several unit bearing installs but this was the first one that i ran across a snap ring holding the axle shaft in place. but i think the setup is not that bad
