Agreed. My local Ford dealer recommended not getting the factory spray in liner. They take all their trucks to a local shop and have them done.
Keeping in mind that I do think the LineX-UV liner is better than the Ford liner, truck sales staff often get incentivized to sell liners by the local shop that works with the dealer. They aren't offering an unbiased opinion. Clearly the dealer makes more money using a local shop, but it's not necessarily a bad thing. It's good for the local economy, and places like LineX offer a lifetime warranty.
Maybe "electronically sprayed " was not the best choice of words. What I should have said it is robotically sprayed . Heres a link to a You Tube Video from Ford on how it is done right there in a separate building at the factory.
It looks like Ford doesn't treat the bed surface nor do they remove the bed bolts before spraying. Line-X does both. Hopefully they remove the chrome tie downs and cargo hooks before spraying. I've also heard reports that the thickness is about .50mils, Line-X shoots at 1.25mils.
I had my 2000 7.3 Line-X'd and it was good as new after 12 years and 250,000 miles.
I'm 100% happy with my new Line-X liner on my Platty. YMMV
I had a Rhino done on my Dodge and it "Lasted" 12 years.
I bought my F-150 in 2003 and it had already had Rhino liner sprayed on it.
I have hated every minute of that stupid liner. The coating comes off on anything you put in the bed (including your skin) and it is now flaking off of the bed. There's many places all you see is paint now.
Wouldn't recommend it in the least based on my years of ownership. Would love to find a place to blast that crap off and get Line-X installed.
When I bought my 250, the dealer had the bed sprayed with Line-X prior to me coming to pick it up. Much nicer liner.

I had a Line X in one of my trucks a few years ago and really had good results with it. I,ll see how the Ford liner holds up now and compare the two. I can definitely tell that the Ford liner is much thinner than the Line X. Ford's liner seems to be more of a harder and slicker finish while the Line X was more thicker and had a softer rubber type of finish. My Line X was very durable though and I'm sure it probably absorbs harsh impacts better that Fords harder type liner.
I have heard the things in the bed slide around more on the ford liner vs the Line-x. I had Line-x sprayed in mine, and yes they do remove all the tie downs, bolts and lights. Ford doesn't spray behind the box link tie downs. I also put a rubber bed mat over my Line-x, just because I got tired of kneeling on the bed ridges, hard on the knees.
Prior to me ordering, I watched the Ford robotic spray-in liner video. Sold. Didn't need to go 3rd party. One of the first things I looked at when picking up my new truck... yep, and it is as good as I imagined. Very happy.
The Ford logo however wasn't anything on my wish list as I knew it would be covered up anyways by my Retrax Pro tonneau canister.
It is robotically sprayed but the bed doesnt have any prep doen to it like line-x/ rhino line do. There is also a video showing how easy it is to remove the factory spray in liner, Almost comes off as one big sheet.

That video is marketing material and most of the criticism of the Ford vs. Linex were well explained in the last thread about this. Curtis (Pocket) summed it up well in this post.

Just FYI, that video presents false information and uses tricks.
For one, they claim that Ford doesn't have a repair process. This is in fact completely false, Ford dealers do have a repair process for the factory spray-in liner. They even have a website dedicated to dealerships just for the spray-in repairs only. Dealers can order patch kits for small spots, or Ford has a network of authorized repair facilities for larger jobs.
As for the tricks, they used two different methods for removing the factory spray-in vs the Line-X. If you watch carefully, you'll see they loosened up the edges and corners of the factory liner in order to pull larger sections of it off. Every single spray-in liner comes off this way. The more brittle the liner, the more it will break, that's about it.
But when they went to pull off the Line-X for the video, they chiseled right in the middle of the liner material, not on the edge. That's why they were able to only get a small piece off. Hollywood magic right there. If he did the same with the factory liner, he would have had the same results as the Line-X.
Furthermore they blast Ford for spraying over the bed bolts. Well, when you remove the bed bolts, spray the bed, and then put the bolts back in... you create what is known as a "soft joint". The bedliner material flexes, ages, etc. Ford engineers specify that there should not be any material between the bolt head and the bed itself, which is why the bedliner is sprayed over the bolts. Now is this a real issue that people run into? Highly doubtful. But also how many people are removing the bed on a regular basis? It's essentially a non-issue for most.
The video is obviously biased and attempts to mis-represent the factory spray in. The truth is, most of these products are very close in durability. Applications can vary, even with Line-X products. Most of the people who have had the factory spray in, including myself, have been happy with them. I've got 36,000 miles on my truck now hauling all sorts of rock, gravel, concrete, bricks, etc. The bed gets used a lot. The factory spray in is still in perfect shape.
Could the factory spray in be better? Sure. I don't like how they spray around the box cleats they show in the video for one, and there is something to be desired where they don't spray much of the bottom inside portion of the tailgate. But then again, I've seen botched Line-X sprays where they pop the LED bed lights out, spray the bed, and can't get the LED's to sit correctly. I've also seen Line-X peel out of a bed. So you're going to find problems with any of them.
In the end, choose one and most likely you'll be happy with the results, whether it's a factory one or an aftermarket. And watch online marketing videos carefully for tricks like that.
I have had Line-X, and I have had Rhino in previous trucks and both held up well for me. But, I have had friends that have had issues with both. It is my opinion that much has to do with proper prep and the skill of the shop doing the install. This go around, I got the Rhino sprayed in and opted out of the factory liner. The factory liner is warranted with the truck, but my liner has a lifetime warranty. The bed bolts were not sprayed over and there is the "Ford" logo in the front of the bed.

We had Line-X with UV protection sprayed in yesterday. There is a Line-X shop about 2 miles from our house. This shop has mediocre reviews, so we chose to drive 37 miles to a Line-X shop that has excellent reviews. We are very happy with the results and their attention to detail. An added plus is that they did not put any Line-X badges, stickers, etc. anywhere on our truck.
The black bedliner looks sharp on our white truck and it eleminates the sharp contrast between all the black parts (puck system, covers where the lights go, etc.) and the white bed.

As per the video, humans mask off the bed and spray the primer in, in text research, it supposedly de-glazes the paint and etches it making the bonding surface. My dealer had zero incoming complaints upon my ordering, he could of steered me to Line.
For our 5th wheel towing, OEM spray-in will suffice nicely and I personally don't want or need a "thicker" liner.
