I've repaired a few fuel leaks on OBS 7.3 trucks before. It has been awhile since I've messed with one, but I'm trying to help a buddy track down a fuel leak. My question is this: Is it common for the actual lift pump to leak? I've got a dry area between the fuel bowl and lift pump. The crevice behind the fuel pump has a puddle and is dripping on the ground. Only place I can figure its leaking from is the actual pump. Doesn't appear to be coming from the banjo bolt on the back of the pump. Just wondering if I'm thinking correctly?

 

Yes the pumps have a weep hole just like water pumps do.

 

I guess the course of action is pump replacement correct?

 

And replace the little short hoses between bowl and pump while you're at it.
