Squirrel Damage

2012 F250 6.2L gas.
Hopefully I am in the correct forum.

It would appear that the squirrels got to a fuel line and chewed a hole in the plastic fitting. I have "fixed it" with some epoxy and it is no longer leaking fuel but I would like to see if I can fix it myself. Can someone tell me what I need to ask for and how to remove/replace the fitting? It is on the drivers side of the engine back close to the firewall.

Thanks in advance.

(Here's hoping the photo uploaded.)

Damn varments! I usually deal with mice... Sorry mate.

I've not done one of those in particular, but, I would think you'd want to replace the entire hose - fitting and all - back to where it meets up with the fuel line that feeds it. I don't recall how much pressure is in this line, but, ...you don't want to find out while driving down the road that any targeted repair you might make at that fitting, (short of completely replacing that section), failed. I would be concerned that either epoxy, or a new fitting that you might try and 'splice' into that line, would not hold up to daily operating conditions.

I'm not an expert, but, that's my 2 cents worth.

looks like a spring lock connector to me. Take the picture to ford, the parts guy can pull up a fuel system diagram with a part number.

That's kind of what I thought (replace all the way back). I was able to detach the fitting from the engine but could not remove the fitting from the hose. I didn't really try very hard since I didn't know if it was supposed to come off.

Anyway, thanks for the response.
