You can charge an AGM battery with a regular charger, it won't hurt anything. The principal on how they operate is similar to a conventional wet-cell battery, but they are much more resistant to deep cycling.
Exactly. I think the wet cell battery might actually have a higher instantaneous current capability, but the AGM can take a deeper discharge, and still recover gracefully.
Well, just got an update from the dealer on my issue. It took a little time because I had a couple other things done as well.
They are telling me that the power inverter is bad. This is the AC to DC converter used to supply power to the AC plug in front and back. They've ordered the part but it won't arrive until early next week, so I won't know until then if it's truly fixed. Hoping so.
Makes some sense, if the truck thinks something is plugged in, it might think it needs to stay running in order to power that device. Gotta love inter-connectivity!
Having the Auto off/on not working is more of a feature than problem . Glad they figured it out for ya.
Well, in the long run we'll see. I figure I will use it for a while and see how it does. I am open to anything that will help increase mileage, and there is always the off button to stop it anyway.
Final update on this one; got the truck back from dealer today. They replaced the power investor and its working as it should. The will tell how much I like this feature, but its back to spec.
Got the Line-X done too. First mod is official I guess.
