Regens - When and How Long

I have 55k on my 15. I have used Torque Pro since new and had the % screen enabled at about 20k miles.
Since the screen, I was able to confirm that I was consistently only getting down to 45% with regens. Bumping it down a gear, unless I am going 70, which is rare, gets me down to 25%. I bump it down to 4th if I am regen around town.
On very rare occasion it will quit earlier, but mostly it still takes the full 20 minutes, it just gets cleaner, and I get about 100 more miles between regens.
Interesting that around town and up to about 45, the mpg lie-O-meter says it gets the same or tiny bit better mpg if I bump it down a gear. I am sure the lower gear/slightly higher revs is better for the exhaust gas recirculation valve.
