I just got home from my first time being on a pit crew, of course it won't no big time thing, but it was exciting anyway. I was asked the other night if I could help out, so I told them yeah. Did ok and I had a good time. The only thing that was wrong with it was the race car was a Chevy. Anyway, the driver finished 10th in both of the twin 75's.
Hey there MW95F250! It was great wasn't it? I was a pit man for a summer with a co-worker of mine in the Big Block Modified Series in Eastern NY. I just had so much fun. The dirt, mud, fuel stench, just made me want more! HEE HEE!
Going to the races is great as well, but when you get into the pits, it's just a whole other feeling.
Ending up in the top 10 in both heats is excellent. Must of had a good set-up and we already know the pit crew was good! I hope you get the chance to do it again soon, before the season ends.
Talk with you later....
Well the driver won't very happy, the car was too tight in the turns. It wouldn't allow him to pull down to pass, it would pull towards the outside. We changed the frontend setup 3 times and thought we had it licked.
But as for me, I enjoyed it a lot and I told them to call me again if they needed someone to fill in, cause that's why I was there, was to fill in for someone on vacation.
I'm happy for you. I also work on a crew. My team has 2 modifides and 3 street stock cars. We are currently in the #1 point spot for the modified and #4 spot for the streetstock. only 2 of the cars are regularly used the others are backup. I did get to drive the backup street stock in a race, it was sweet. ALso, all of our race cars are ford powered. The modifieds are 351 windsor powered, and the street stocks are powered by 351 clevelands.
