After some consideration and research , I finally completed my 275 amp alternator .It was built with parts I researched along with copying my 200 amp unit.Every part is new ,including bearings ,cases brushes .Most 275 amp units are $500-$650$ .The 200 amp alt.has been in my truck since 2002 ,over150,000 ago .Most places that sells parts are high in costs and the Japanese / Chinese vendors are cheap but can't afford to purchase 100000 of one part .I guess it's the way us buyers get raped at the counter .TR

Can you detail your build please..
some pictures are helpful too
Sure will , For my application a 1992 Ford XLT Bronco, I believe it was a factory (stock)-2G alternator, with 3g starting in 1993 . My 200 amp had the 3g cases .I used new 3 g cases ,stator to fit the 3g case , along with H.D.brushes and a heavy duty rectifier .Depending on your year ride, that will matter. Some year cases were smaller in stature and most people search the bone yard for the 3g model which was 130 amp .I did find out you have two 3g cases , one being bigger .Following our 3g alts 4 g 6 g came along etc.........You tube ,search engines putting in 3g alternators will help and pictures later will follow. Good luck TR
15 year old 200amp stator ,notice the wire ,soldering came loose ,at idle full charge ,revving up over idle no charge (wire was actually touching, moved away for photo)
