Taking care of my Dads ol f250 while hes on a little vacation the Fuel filter light pops up after 2k RPM.
Went out and got a fuel filter took the old one out and noticed some possible problems. The little circles attach tot he wire have come unattached from the base. Do i need to replace the whole housing or is it nothing to be worried about. Ill attach a picture below.
Welcome to FTE monstar! That would be the fuel filter heater. You can leave it in there if you want to, but you should unplug the electrical connector on the fuel bowl if you do. They usually break and short out against the side of the fuel bowl and pop the #22 fuse and that will shut the truck down. Hope this helps.
welcome ot FTE.
and i agree with Red, disconnect the wire going to the heater and tape it up. the heater is not needed, mine on the 88 has been disconnected since 1989 when it shorted out
