I am new to this and didn't know for sure where to post this.
I am looking for information concerning our 1963 F100. I have been told by some that the bed that is on this pick up is not original to this pick up. Also interested in the 81A Body style and the B color code. Found the following info online.
Series Code F10 F-100 (2 Wheel Drive)
Engine Code J 223 CID 1v (114 HP @ 3600 RPM)
Assembly Plant K Kansas City, MO
Consecutive Unit Number 350252 Nov 1962
Any information you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
That is the correct wide box. The other was flare side or narrow. The other was unit body witch cab/box is one piece. It was special ordered not bought out of dealer stock.

Are these the years with a carry-over box that doesn't line up with the lines of the cab?
It is not running at this time. It was sitting in a gas station that we purchased on a sheriffs sale. It is sitting on the lift and it has part of the motor sitting on the passenger side floorboard. We hope to get it running someday.
Thank you for all this information NumberDummy! It is greatly appreciated.
We are also curious about the VIN number. We have been told that it is the same as the warranty number others say it is a separate number that is on the frame and under the cowl area.
That box looks somewhat wrong even for the wrong box. The correct box for this truck is a 1957-1960 Styleside truck box. Maybe this one is just loose on the frame? The V.I.N. is stamped on the passenger frame rail twice. Once under the cab and once around where the wheel hub is for the front wheel. The warranty plate on the door is supposed to have the same number on it unless someone changed the door and did not keep the original tag.

Trucks were registered by their hidden frame VIN
The VIN on the Warranty Plate was known as the Warranty Number...it's supposed to be the same as the VIN, but today...it may not be.
1963/79: Warranty Plate riveted to the left door face below the latch.
It was stated on the Warranty Plate that the Warranty Number was not for title or registration purposes. One reason why:
People replaced damaged left doors with used doors. 99.9% of the time, they failed to install the original Warranty Plates on the replaced doors.
