I know that some Weigh Safe hitch guys said one thing they didn't like was the lack of a cover for the key hole in the lock plate. Weigh Safe just came out with a rubber cover for that. I received mine today. Nice tight fit and eliminates the ability of debris to get into the keyhole. Cheap too at around $5. Anyways, I mentioned this in my Weigh Safe coupon code thread but thought I'd post a thread on it as guys who already have their hitch probably wouldn't click on that thread.
The FTEWEIGH discount code will not work on accessories but for anyone still looking for a hitch, Trunk Monkey has treated a lot of us right with 10% off and free shipping.
I was working on my hitch set up yesterday and was thinking about Gorilla Tape for a cover and lo and behold - you come through again. Sure appreciate this. Just ordered one from the guys in Oregon.
Perfect, the one time I used the hitch so far I was wondering if I was going to be able to get the key in there with all the slush..
I have a hitch pin with a similar key lock. It has been attached for over 5+ years and through all sorts of elements. As I needed to remove it before I traded it off for my new SD, I just shot WD-40 in the lock and it came right off. No issues. The lock was quite corroded and covered with gunk of the elements.

When I got my hitch I greased the pins and lock mechanism (not the key hole) ....I live in a salty environment on the coast....figured it could not hurt...thanks for the heads up on the cover Karl4cat
