Hey guys this morning on my way to work I pulled up to a light and the check engine light came on. I went to go and had no throttle response at all. The truck just idled through the intersection. About 45 seconds later the light went out and truck ran fine all the way back to work. Any ideas what to look for or what it could have been.
Throttle Position Sensor. Yours may be just a sensor replacement (either prior to or after 2002, some years had a setup where you can just replace the sensor itself). Most of us though have the replace the entire accelerator pedal assembly which includes the sensor built into it. To my knowledge, no one has successfully rebuilt one of these composite units.
Replacement is quite easy. One electronic connector and three bolts, all under the dash in the driver side firewall area. The hardest part (for me, anyway) is the contortions I have to go through to fit upside down in the floor for the wrenching.

Did you notice your gauges acting any differently?
For work under the dash, I have cut an 8' by about 20" wide 5/8" plywood and rested the outboard end on a bench, the inboard end inside on the floor.
I've managed to avoid needing this enough to where my mind never fought the battle of looking for a helpful solution. HOWEVER, what you just shared is a great option, and I WILL adopt it!
