So, we took delivery of our new F350 XLT Premium yesterday. Overall, the truck drives, rides and looks great!
However, there's no trailer hookup light (spotlight) in the tailgate. I wonder if that's a Job 2 change, a deletion to make space for the tailgate step, or??
The rest of the lights, both interior and exterior, are really terrific!
Thx,
jim / crewzer
Are you sure you don't have the spotlight? That was not something that got deleted. The "spotlight" is just a little pod to the right of the handle assembly; you can turn it on by hitting the switch in the bed, or by unlocking the truck with keyless entry, or by using the "bed lights" switch in the cab.
I have to say the 360 camera is the neatest thing on these trucks. I assume that's the package it comes with.
Just went through the order guide and build & price. Neither states what option gets the tailgate spotlight. Could it be the $60 LED bed lamps option? Our 2016 F-150 XLT Premium package has the tailgate spotlight. The 360 cam or Ultimate Tow Cam package does not show the tailgate spotlight as being included.
Being honest, I couldn't care less about the 360 cam (although the front washer is cool and should be included on the backup cam).
Ours is an XLT Premium with the optional LED bedlamps and the optional CHMSL camera. We have two camera heads (one in the tailgate and one in the CHMSL), but no trailer hookup light (spotlight).
Oh well... not the end of the world. The trailer we're considering has a front-mounted LED hookup light.
Yeah, just checked. You are correct. That is ridiculous.
I agree. We have every other possible auxiliary light (LED roof clearance, LED puddles, LED spots, LED CHMSL, LED box), and the camper package, but they left off the one last lamp?

Yeah I have those and the 360 camera system. It has to be grouped with one of those two IMO, then again maybe Ford doesn't see it that way.
Hmm...Jim/Crewzer says he has the LED box lights (assuming these are the ones in the bed corners rather than the ones at roof level). So if that is the case, it can't be bundled with the bed corner LED lamps.
Jim, can you confirm you have the LED bed lights in the corners of the bed with the rubber on/off switch?

Confirmed.
Here are pics of my taigate handle and the left-side LED box lamp with switch:
