I own a 2006 mercury mountaineer and Everytime I accelerate from a stop into a left turn it feels as if my rear tires are going to slide right out from under my truck for about 2 seconds and then everything goes back to feeling normal any and all advice to what might be the cause of this is very much appreciated thank you all in advance. Shawn
Not really the right place to post this but just a thought - does the vehicle have a limited slip rear? They can do funny things when they fail. Ditto for a broken spider gear.

PupnDuck I'm not sure it's AWD with 4x4 v6 model how do I look/check to see if it is? I thought it might be the bushings or the struts, shocks. I never have been good for diagnosing the problem just the fixing of the problem lol please excuse my misplacement of my post it's my first day in the group and I appreciate all thoughts, questions and help that yourself and fellow members give thank you in advance
Jack the rear up and put some jack stands under it. You want the rear axle to hang unsupported. Engine off. Parking brake off, trans in park. Turn one rear wheel by hand. If the opposite side rotates in the opposite direction, you DON'T have a limited slip. If it rotates in the same direction or you can't turn the wheel by hand you probably do. But given the model and year you probably do not have limited slip.
Now grab hold of various bits - shocks, struts, etc. and look for excessive play. Given the age of the vehicle there will be SOME play. You're looking for obvious slop in any mounting point or bushing.
Another but remote possibility is a problem in the AWD system that's not allowing a speed differential between the front and rear axles in a turn. That's not something you want to tackle yourself.
06 should have an open diff and stability control. If there is a warning light on for traction control, abs, or stability control, it may have a bad wheel speed sensor. The system may be kicking on thinking you are spinning.
