Some of you are saying the seats are the same. I have sat in a king ranch and lariat.., I don't see how it's the same??
the KR leather is thicker to me. At least feels that way. I'm also assuming has less viynl... or none.
Well now that youve sat in them and gotten a feel for them, which do you really want? Youre not guaranteed tomorrow, so get what you want and what youre comfortable buying. Im a KR guy myself, the KR leather is just very pleasing to me. One thing about the lariat, is that it gets dirtier a whole lot easier than the KR. You can see the dirt in the grains and pores for the a/c after just a bit of use. Honestly unless youre driving in your birthday suit you wont notice the difference in material.
Heres how you should decide.
Do i want tan or brown?
Do i want multi-contour or no?

Those are about the two greatest differences.
i was under the assumption that KR only came in the same color? The java color???
And im gonna get the KR ultimate so it comes with the massaging seats!

Doubtful you'll have any regrets with that choice. My first time seeing the KR interior colors, leather, and rich wood accents left me envious that I didn't go that route. I think the wood trim in the KR is the best available for SD line.

They make different types of inserts (Lariat, KR and Platinum) because everyone has different tastes. Personally I like the Lariat wood trim best with the dark Platinum wood 2nd and the KR last. The KR is too light in my opinion. That being said, I went with the Platinum

Not complainin' one bit about my Lariat trim, but man, the wood trim in the KR just looks warmer and more inviting to me. Must be my age....

The wood in my KR is a dark cherry wood. I love it.
I have used "Griots"(sp) products for years. 240K on my 2K2 F350 Lariat. Not a crack or wrinkle when I sold it after 12 years.
Funny story, instructions said "apply by hand" so I did. Poured the goo onto my bare hand and rubbed into the leather! Duh...a senior moment!
The leather in the king ranch isn't much different than the leather in the other series trucks, just a different color and inlays. Ford stopped using the king ranch saddle leather pre-2011...evidently people said it was too hard to care for...I think it was probably just eating into their profit margin.
That was real leather. Every other leather in these trucks, and other domestic vehicles, is plastic or synthetic coated leather. Using most products designed for treating genuine leather is a waste of money.

That's odd, the picture someone posted here showing their sons KR as a very light wood. It's probably the one thing I don't like about my 09 Lariat F150.

So which one is it? At first you say you sat in a Lariat but not a King Ranch.... then you say you have sat in both??
I just think that was really rude. I mean I crate so many threads here to be as much informed as possible and then after doing reasearch I am setting a goal to save up from working OT to be able to have a payment where I can afford it.
I mean if I didn't have a down payment and just went out there and bought whatever at a horrible interest rate and high payment then yeah I can see where this statement is Kinda coming from but seeing as how I ask a lot of questions and everything I don't feel like I'm making a decision based on me not affording it.
sorry that statement he said kinda just offended me and I don't see why he would have said that.
For those of you who only read this post, it would appear my comments came out of left field. I would recommend you read the post below started by Chris a few weeks ago.
He came to the forum and laid out the financial numbers he was working with. In that post he gave us 3 different widely varying yearly income numbers and was unable to answer the question, "Would I be upside down if I put this much down and had this much equity in my current truck? I don't know "Chris" from "Adam", but I, along with the majority of the other posters to that thread, were in agreement that the numbers do not work it this case. Not yet at least. Chris seems to be very hard working, and willing to work towards a goal, but buying a truck that is nearly twice your annual take home pay does not equate to financial wisdom. Chris quit posting to that thread, I'm guessing because he did not like the feedback he was getting.
To the crowd that says "you only live once, do what makes you happy", what a bunch of non-sense. Go ahead and buy that big house you can't afford if they'll loan you the money. You deserve it and gosh darn it, people like you. That mentality hurt pretty much everyone in the 2008 and some have yet to recover from people buying stuff (homes in this case) they could not afford.
Also, who here stops at just buying a fancy truck that they want, not need. Next up will be tires, wheels, a lift, lights, bed cover, bumpers, etc. You know it, I know it and there goes another $10K in flash.
This is a train wreck in the making and he came to us in the thread linked above looking for advice. I like to see people "win" with money, not struggle with it. If I've "offended" someone when they came to a public forum looking for advice, I'm not going to feel sorry about it. The linked thread provided compelling advice about slowing down and paying more cash toward the purchase of this vehicle. The facts (not opinion) are that some people don't have the numbers to buy certain vehicles and if you don't have the moral courage to come alongside someone and tell them so, then, well, that tells me a lot about your own character and/or that you are really bad with math.
