We have recently purchased a 74 f250. On the tag it has two letters for the paint code. I've read other threads that state the first letter is the primary colors and the second is the accent color. However when I compare these two letters to the ford paint code chart it states the combination is not possible. The two letters are NM. I can find "M" with no trouble for 74, that is white. I can not find "N" for 74. And the first letter being the primary does not work with this truck. The second letter is the primary. Any help appreciated.

Was your truck assembled, sold new in Canada?
If so: 1974: N = Bright Green Metallic / M is the same as US trucks.
I don't believe so. I'll post a picture of my door tag. I believe it was built in flint and ordered by a dealership in the greater Lansing area. I have the original dealer warranty card.
It does have bright green metallic paint around the upper rear part of the cab.
i think that color is called light medium pine and thats the letter n but dont hold me to it and m is white and it says that your truck was made in Michigan
I get the separate colors, but in 74 were they available as a combination? And was that combination available in the states? And I thought the primary colors came first?
There's no N color code listed for 1974 US cars or trucks/Bronco's/Econolines.
There is an N listed for Canadian cars and trucks for 1974, but your truck was assembled at the Michigan truck assembly plant and ordered from the Lansing MI Ford district sales office.
I too gleaned the information as to where it was built and ordered from but it still states clearly on the tag it was two tone and white was second, green first. I'll admit I do not know where the frame vin is located. I also haven't taken the time to find out on my own where that is...any help?
It's on the top of the passenger side rail, where you can see it from under the hood. There should be another stamping, on the passenger side rail, under the cab.
Ok, so my front end is much different than this photo. I have leaf Springs, not coils. I've looked in the space marked in this picture but I have found nothing. Could it be somewhere else or possibly my frame is not a 74?
