The only thing E-Z outs have ever extracted for me was $$$ from my pocket.

same here.......bought one once....useless,could have spent the money on something more worthwhile....like beer.

I always just drill it out with a bit smaller than the hole, then pick out the bolt from the sides, chase the threads and you're done. It's easiest on a drill press if you can clamp it straight, but a hand drill works if you're good.

I have a problem with my intake manifold
It was 5/16 bolt for the water neck...
Broke it off.. drilled it, tapped it for 5/16 x 24
Still dont work....
Think I could put in a stud w/ locktight and use it that way?
Since I cant seem to get it to rethread right?

Andy,
You didn't say WHY it wasn't working. Is the hole off center, threads too loose? If you got the threads cut in the correct place, but they seem too loose? Use some JB Weld on the threads, screw to stud into the casting let it set up and you're good to go.

Thanks
I actually fixed it today. I didn't think I could drill it out any further w/o busting the "Sleeve" the FEs have in the manifold for the bolt hole.
Kinda hard to explain but you'd know it if you seen it.
But i drilled it out, retapped it w/ different threads, and it worked

That's a good solution most of the time. Get a good nights sleep and regroup. The next day things just seem to go easier. I think our brains go to work solving problems while we're cutting z's!!
