Beginning to work on individual components for my 79 SC. Dumped the ash tray, and what I think is the ash tray carrier in Evapo Rust and pulled them out before sending the tray off to have the face painted along with the rest of the truck. Thought I'd check to see how the tray slides on the carrier, but it looks like the two pieces do not go together. The tray was out of the dash when I got the truck (found it under the bench seat) and the slider carrier thing was in the glove box. The carrier thing seems to have a Ford number on it. Any help would be appreciated.
The part on the right goes on the top. The ***** on the side of the ash tray run in the grooves in the side of the top piece. Oh Wait. You're missing your *****! There is another part that fits on the top of the ash tray. Look at these pictures. It also looks like someone may have trimmed off the brackets on the top piece.
Digging up an old thread here..... So I have the ashtray and the bracket... but Im missing my *****..... Can someone help me find a new set of *****? LMAO
