Well, after all these years on mine, the airbag might not deploy anyway. But I LOVE cruise control on my 25 mile trip to and from work. I also gotta have that horn. HATED to use that much money to fix it.
The same year of E-150,250,and 350 vans seem to take the same clock spring.

I just did mine, mainly for the horn,, It was not working for years, and I always seemed to need to honk at some idiot. But now its fixed and I have not got to honk it yet.

Aerostars are becoming very rare. I'm lucky to see another once a month. I've got my kids trained to look for them and point them out.

By the way, get a steering wheel puller, and its a very easy job. I wish I would have done it a long time ago. My airbag still didn't work, I think the module under the dash is bad, but I'm not ready to spent $150 to test that. but the horn and cruise work good.

Thanks for the suggestion,SittinGuy!
Actually I was really surprised day before yesterday when I was looking in my storage building for something else, and I saw a brand new puller hanging on the wall. I knew I had some 3-jaw pullers, but I didn't know I had a straight bolt down type puller.
I got so many tools,I really need to do inventory when I retire, this year I hope. don-ohio (:^)

Only took about 1.5 hours to put in. I ended up taking the key ignition switch out. That made it easy to put in the single wire you see that snaps/pops into the side of the key switch. Also that allowed me to not have to take the steering colum cover completely off. With the key switch out you can just spread the front of the cover and wiggle the wire through.
good luck I hope it goes good for you.

Thanks! Yes,I took the ignition tumbler out on my boy's Taurus when I did his clock spring. Then installed that fitting,I think for the chime?
I appreciate the advice. It makes things go better when everyone helps with what they've learned. don-ohio (:^)

Same here, but I am happy. Put the black tape back over the light and unplugged half the module so I did not have the here the chime. I finally got to honk at someone a few days ago, It was Great.
