After work today I figured I would plug in my scanner and check for any engine codes. One of the ones that came up is a p0236 code. "Turbocharger boost sensor a circuit range/performance." Any ideas what to look for? I have a bone stock 97 F-250 with a little over 200k.
Update: I did some diag myself and I am gearing towards a possible problem with a plugged cat or faulty epb? I looked up possible fixes on identifix at work and printed out a walkthrough on different things I can check. One is the MAP sensor. First, check the hose that routs to the sensor for any debris or cracks. I checm the hose and it is fine. The walkthrough also says to check the pressure reading for the MAP. The pressure should reas 14psi with key on, engine off and it should read another 12-13 psi above that at wide open throttle. I hooked up a co-workers diagnostic scanner and watched the live data. The MAP shows 14psi with key on, engine off but does not go up 12-13 psi at wot. The most I hit was about 22 psi. The walkthrough said that the possible cause could the be an exhaust restriction of some kind. Any thoughts?? Thank you in advance for your time.
