Hey y'all I'm replacing the engine on my 1986 f250 6.9idi.
I just bought another 6.9idi but the engine doesn't have everything with it so I will need to use parts from the engine in my truck.
Does anyone have any tips/pointers? Any specific tools I may need? Anything helps..
Thanks!!
What specifically did you buy? Just a block? Or a block with everything up til the heads? Or a block with heads? Or a block with heads and intake? or a block with heads, intake, manifolds? Or a block with heads, manifolds, and pumps and pulleys? Or a block with heads, manifolds, accessories, cables, etc?

Words. They work wonders. And they are free.
Well here are some pictures. I'm new to the idi so I dont know much about what everything is called.
Harmonic balancer puller.
Power steering pulley puller, works on vacuum pump as well
Torque wrench.
Ferret timing tool
Timing light.
Engine hoist.
Engine stand.
Don't use a jaw puller on your power steering vacuum pump or harmonic balancer, DAMAGE will result.
Might of missed something but that's a good start.
